Introducing our new menu at Cooke’s Restaurant & Bar

Our menu at Cooke’s Restaurant & Bar is getting a winter facelift and we’re very excited to be launching some hearty new dishes just in time for the colder season.

In a recent interview with Hotel Magazine, Group Executive Chef, Jinu Abraham talked extensively about the exciting new dishes coming to the menu at Cooke’s Restaurant & Bar this winter, “In the small plates, we are adding a complete plant-based item of pressed root vegetables served with avocado puree and rice cracker. Smoked duck is another favourite, hot smoked with manuka chips, and served with pickled muscatels and walnuts.”

Warming winter favourites

Winter is all about hearty, warming dishes and a return to the flavours of the winter season like root vegetables and nuts is something JInu was keen to bring to the menu.

There are changes across all areas of the menus with the addition of a new lamb meatball dish to the tapas menu which is served with cauliflower cream and salsa verde. This is being rolled out just in time for National Lamb Day on May 24 and is joined by a tasty pork melt; a grilled sandwich with manchego cheese.

Two new main courses

Two new dishes have also been added to the main course menu, both adding a warming element to our current menu. A brined chicken with mushroom risotto and a beef eye fillet dish with salt roast carrot and chimichurri will be popular additions to the menu and we are looking forward to the feedback from our customers.

On the dessert menu, Jinu has added a winter classic; plum frangipane which is sure to be a big hit.

JInu is understandably excited about the new additions to the menu, “This menu has winter flavours, think root vegetables, pumpkin, feijoa, apples, perennial herbs such as rosemary and thyme. Bolder flavours of duck, lamb and beef. Warm, buttery dessert of frangipane shares space with light flavours of elderflower & coconut espuma.”

We have some great options for vegans and vegetarians as well as gluten-free and low-carb options.
